Coach Jay Jaramillo
I am an energetic and experienced volleyball coach based out of Southern California. I have been playing volleyball for 13 years and coaching for 9 of them! I have experience coaching many different ages and skill levels, including high school, club, and college! My experience as a player includes playing club, NCAA Division II, CBVA, and Semi-Pro tournaments, playing in both men’s and women’s divisions. I use they/them pronouns exclusively.
During my club years, I played at TCA where I earned a bronze medal at the Junior Olympics, along with two other appearances in the Open Division. I attended and played at Mater Dei High School, earning two years of accolades. I was recruited by Cal Poly Pomona and played indoor volleyball there for 4 years, while earning my degree in Psychology. My 3rd year, we went to the NCAA National Tournament in Washington, and placed 16th in the nation. After my graduate degree, I decided to pursue beach volleyball at Mt. SAC, becoming the 1’s pair in my first year of competitive sand volleyball. I am currently pursuing a pro volleyball career as well!
It is my goal to use my experience and knowledge of volleyball to help you improve your skills and learn the strategy of the game. I will be your coach and mentor, and our volleyball journey will be 100% unique to you so you can grow as an individual to your fullest potential, and reach your personal goals.
